Work Experience
Marketing Strategy Specialist // Penn State Student Affairs
January 2019- Present
At Penn State, I currently handle all of the strategic planning, design, website, social media, marketing and more for two health units in Student Affairs, among other things.
Social Media Manager & Writer // DARLA Media
October 2017- December 2018
At DARLA Media I assisted with writing stories and handled their social media platforms. I generated and shared content on all platforms while trying to build DARLA's social media presence. I created a content calendar and social media/marketing campaigns. Occasionally, I created graphics and promotional materials.
Founder & Editor in Chief // Sovereign Magazine
2015-2017
At the end of 2015, I created Penn State's first magazine for students of color on the University Park campus. I produced and oversaw all operations for the magazine, delegated tasks to executive members and staff, as well as ensure adherence to deadlines. Additionally, I assisted with Sovereign's overall social media presence. This was such a fun and challenging experience as I created this with no prior magazine experience. I saw a lack of publications for students of color at Penn State and instead of just waiting around for someone else to address the issue I decided to create this by myself.
Marketing/Program Assistant // Paul Robeson Cultural Center
2015-2017
This position required creativity and adaptability as things frequently changed. My main responsibility was to design marketing materials and assist with programming and social media. Additionally, at these programs I would help with photography, videography, live streaming and/or live-tweeting, among other things. This position helped me grow and enhance my digital media skills through design, photos/video, and more.
Production Intern // emPower Magazine
Summer 2016
I assisted DeShuna Spencer with her radio slot, emPower Hour, her magazine emPower, and her company KweliTV. I mainly assisted with the radio show by choosing topics, researching guests, contacting them, and assisting with the overall production.
Social Chair // BLUEprint Peer Mentoring Program
2014-2016
This program was designed to help acclimate first year and change of campus students to the campus academically, socially and culturally. I created, planned, and organized events and activities to help develop a unified bond. I produced budgets and itineraries for organization wide events and collaborated with other executive members for assistance in agendas/tasks
